Chris earned a degree in agribusiness management, where his involvement in COINS first sparked his passion for agricultural markets. He began his career in commodity procurement with Smithfield Foods before transitioning to credit risk underwriting with Farm Credit of the Virginias in 2018 as a credit analyst trainee. Since then, he has progressed through the analyst ranks, gaining experience with credit requests ranging from small farm loans to complex multimillion-dollar participations and Virginia agribusiness financing. Today, he specializes in partnering closely with the lending team to evaluate financial and repayment risk while ensuring each request is structured responsibly and presented with clear, well-supported recommendations.
